University of California, Davis, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, One Shields Avenue, Davis CA 95616
Bio

DNA damage-based anti-tumor agents induce DNA breaks, gaps and interstrand crosslinks, and therapy exploits the differential sensitivity of tumor cells versus the normal tissue. Research in Dr. Heyer’s laboratory focuses on the mechanisms and regulation of recombinational DNA repair, which is a critical pathway for the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks, gaps, and interstrand crosslinks.
