Bio

Bruce Hammock, PhD is Distinguished Professor of Entomology and studies the arachidonate cascade and inflammation as it relates to cancer biology. Some potent anti-cancer drugs such as sorafenib inhibit enzymes in this cascade which probably reduces their innate toxicity. His group developed a drug now in human trials that reduces the cytokine activation after cancer resection, chemotherapy, and even CAR-T therapy leading to post-treatment metastasis, angiogenesis and tumor regrowth.
