Bio

Sean Collins, PhD is Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and aims to obtain a quantitative and molecular understanding of signaling mechanisms that cells use to process information about their environment. His group is focused on the responses of human neutrophils, including how neutrophils interpret gradients of chemoattractants to orient their movement. This should inform the understanding of cellular decision making and motility in many contexts, including cancer-associated inflammation and metastasis.
