Jian Jian Li, MD PhD is Professor of Radiation Oncology in the SOM and his research interests include the study of the molecular mechanisms causing tumor resistance to radiation and chemotherapy. A prosurvival signaling network regulated by the transcription factor NF-kB and the mitochondrial protein influx is being investigated in radiation-induced adaptive response in normal cells and in the radiation-resistant cancer stem cells. The goal of these studies is to find therapeutic targets to enhance the cure rate by radiotherapy.
